Todoran Takes Silver and PB at the Romanian Half-Marathon Nationals. Petrescu Gets Bronze and PB

The Romanian National Marathon Championships took place this past Sunday at the same time as the “Bucharest International Marathon”. Adidas Boulder-Wave Romania had two people run in the marathon. Paula Todoran ran a tough race placing 2nd in the national ranking in 2h 43:28, setting a personal best. Right behind Todoran, in third place, was Petrescu Alina, who crossed the finish line in a personal best of 2h 46:47. Cirlan Daniela was crowned as 2011 national champion.Full results here.

The adidas Bouder Wave Team also had 4 runners competing in the international half-marathon competition, which started in the same time as the marathon. Thus, Frumuz Cristiana took second with the unofficial time of 1h 18:02, while defending champion, Duta Roxana, was in third, few seconds behind Frumuz.

Positions 4 and 7 were also taken by adidas Boulder Wave runners. Moaga Elena was first to the line followed by Boholtan Alina.

Interviewed after the marathon Todoran Paula said that, “I’m mostly satisfied with my performance today, although I know I can do better. I need to work more on some aspects of my training, and then I can expect better results.”

Frumuz Cristiana was happy to finish the half-marathon saying that, “Today was a tough race for me, I fought hard to get second, and I’m happy is over. Now I can focus on cross-country”.

“I am happy with this personal best although I also wanted to defend my title. I gave my best today and that is all I can do. Next time I hope I will be first,” said Duta Roxana at the end of the half-marathon.
